I’m a dentist and the story i’m about to tell you is the absolute truth.
I was born in Sydney, Australia but moved to New Zealand in 1992. After enjoying the scenery, skiing and sky-diving there; I moved to the U.K in 1997 taking a small detour to Whistler, Canada and also to Japan to do some ski-instructing. I wanted to see the country when I first came over, so I worked as a locum in various parts of England, I gravitated back to London in 1999 and worked in a practice in Camden Town for nine years. Since I used to skate to and from work, I became known as the ‘Skating Dentist’. I had car loads of people waving to me saying, “Hello Mr. Dentist!” Then in 2008 I moved to Hertford and found that people do smile at you going down the street, and that they are generally a happy and helpful bunch.
I haven’t totally given up on London yet. You’ll still see me there practically every Sunday hanging out with some great friends at Hillsong Church on Tottenham Court Road. Great praise and worship goes on at the Dominion Theatre each Sunday. Then on Monday it goes back to being the ‘We will rock you’ theatre production.
